Privacy policy

Dynasty Assistant is a free tool for dynasty fantasy football managers, run by Dan Abrey as an individual. This page explains what information the site holds about you, why, and what you can ask me to do with it. If anything is unclear, email suggestions@dynastyassistant.com.

What I collect

  • Account details: your name and email address, and a hashed (not readable) password.
  • Your leagues and teams: the league and roster information imported from MyFantasyLeague, Sleeper or Fleaflicker, such as league settings, team names, players and draft picks. This comes from those platforms' public APIs.
  • MyFantasyLeague connection (optional): if you connect your MFL account, your MFL username and the access token MFL gives us. Your MFL password is used once to get that token and is not stored. An MFL API key typed in when importing a private league is used for that import and not saved.
  • What you do on the site: the players you watch, notes you write, your rookie rankings, the players you search for, and a record of changes to your leagues (for example when you edit or sync one).
  • Technical information: standard server logs and error and performance monitoring (Laravel Nightwatch) that can include your IP address, browser and the pages you request, used to keep the site working.

How it is used

To show you your leagues, rosters, free agents, trade ideas and values, to keep them synced, to run the site and fix problems, and to show anonymous aggregate lists such as the most searched players. I do not sell your data and I do not send marketing email. Emails are sent only for things like password resets.

Connecting an AI assistant

If you connect Dynasty Assistant to an assistant such as Claude or ChatGPT through the connector, that assistant can read your leagues and rosters (read-only) while you use it, and you sign in to authorise it. What that assistant provider does with the information is covered by their own policy. You can revoke access from the assistant's connector settings.

Other services involved

  • MyFantasyLeague, Sleeper and Fleaflicker, to import your leagues.
  • Dynasty Process, the source of the player values (no personal data is sent).
  • Patreon, if you subscribe. I enable premium features by hand and receive nothing beyond what Patreon tells me about your pledge.
  • Google Fonts and public CDNs (cdnjs, jsDelivr) that serve fonts and scripts, which means your browser contacts them when you load a page. YouTube embeds on prospect pages load YouTube's player.
  • My hosting provider, which stores the data on servers I control.

Cookies and storage

The site uses a session cookie to keep you logged in (and a longer-lived login cookie if you tick "Stay logged in") and a security cookie to protect forms. Your light or dark mode preference is stored in your browser. There is no advertising or analytics tracking.

How long it is kept

Until you delete it. Deleting a league removes its data from the site. To delete your account and everything linked to it, email me and I will do it.

Your rights

You can ask to see the information held about you, correct it, or have it deleted, and you can object to how it is used. Email suggestions@dynastyassistant.com and I will reply as soon as I can. If you are in the UK or EU you also have the right to complain to your data protection authority.

Changes

If this changes in a way that matters, I will update the date above and, for significant changes, say so on the site.
